Erica Knapp flips one of the thousands of pancakes she helped cook up last week during the 56th Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St John’s Church. The annual event, held this year on February 12, had a great turnout “from all around town, and from surrounding towns as well,” according to Cheryl Moulthrop, a longtime member of St John’s and the wife of church Warden Bruce Moulthrop. “Many familiar faces … as well as some new faces” attended the dinner, said Mrs Moulthrop. In addition to dozens of guests who showed up for dinner, the church was blessed with help prior to the event from Scott Kimball of W. Kimball, Inc, who cleared the parking lot of snow the night before the dinner; Bob McCulloch of Newtown Tree Service, for his ongoing efforts to keep the lot plowed and sanded; as well as donations of food and paper products from Blue Colony Diner, Ace Endico of Brewster, and The Warehouse Store.
