Newtown hosted its first full Light The Night event, a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lym-phoma Society, on Saturday, September 25. The event took place on the grounds in front of Newtown Youth Academy and included live music, refreshments, LLS and related informa-tion, and a two-lap walk. Newtown hosted its first full Light The Night event, a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, on Saturday, September 25. Jenna Dos Santos, in the white T-shirt, was at the event with her brother and parents and carried the special title of this year's Light the Night Honored Hero. Bill Trotta, "Mr Morning" for radio station KICKS FM, interviewed Jenna before the event's two laps. Jenna, age 4, was diagnosed in May 2009 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and is about halfway through her expected two and a half years of necessary chemotherapy and other treatments. (Hicks photo)
