Police report a two-vehicle accident at the busy intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Haw-leyville Road about 4:36 pm April 21. Motorist Bob Viera, 25, of Danbury, who was driving a 2003 Audi A-4 sedan westward on Mt Pleasant Road, stopped for a red traffic signal at the intersection and was then struck from behind by motorist Anthony Gentile, 42, of Danbury, who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer SUV. Police said that Viera and Audi passenger Bruno Cuhna, 22, of Danbury, received possible injuries in the accident. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company responded to the incident. Police issued Gentile a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
