A two-vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 84 just east of the Parmalee Hill Road overpass at about 6:49 pm on September 27, caused travel delays on the highway. According to state police, Ronald Gaither, 37, of Bronx, N.Y., was driving a tractor-trailer truck in the right climbing lane of three lanes. Motorist Melanie Clark, 21, of Mt Kisco, N.Y., who was driving a 1999 Honda Accord, had been traveling behind the truck and then entered the center lane. The Honda then drifted to the right and struck the truck’s trailer. State police added that Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members transported Clark to Danbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident.
