This weathervane was made in my house when I was a child... I remember the wings laying on the floor before it was put together. It seemed huge to me. Truely beautiful.

JOHN HALLOCK 4 Green Hill Road, Bethlehem, Conn. 06751; (203) 266-7277. Weathered Vanes
Sheet copper is the classic weather-vane material. "It's light, easy to work with and doesn't rust," said J. Donald Felix, a weather-vane maker for more than 20 years. Mr. Felix and Mr. Hallock create vanes freehand, drawing a paper pattern, tracing it, then hammering it in copper.
Copper vanes will form verdigris, or a greenish coating, naturally -- an effect some prefer. "New copper looks manufactured," Mr. Felix said. His handmade vanes start at $200.

I have called someone at the Newtown building and discovered that John Hallock made this beautiful weathervane. However, I have been unable to locate him. I would LOVE to have one made for our VA house. If someone could assist me, I would be so pleased. Also, your town looks lovely!
