Emergency officials responded to a one-car accident about 2:34 am on May 15, at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Zoar Road. Police said motorist Debravion Cook, 22, of Danbury was driving a 2010 Acura TSX sedan westward on Berkshire Road and then drove across Berkshire Road’s in-tersection with Zoar Road, after which the auto struck a tree along the westbound road shoulder. Police said Cook, who left the scene after the impact, told them that he fell asleep at the wheel before the collision occurred. There were no injuries. The auto, which came to rest facing east in the yard of 109 Berkshire Road, was heavily damaged in the accident. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a paramedic responded to the accident. Police said they issued Cook an infraction for making a restricted turn. (Hicks photo)
