Newtown Girl Scouts have launched the 2013 cookie sale season, and this group — representing Newtown Brownie Troop 50999, from Hawley School — spent part of Saturday, March 9, outside Dunkin’ Donuts. From left are Lexi Ferrara, Lizzy Gotschlich, and Alyssa Bova. Cookies are $4 a box, and there are plenty available. Under the guidance of Monsignor Robert Weiss, Matthew Rahtelli blesses a statue of St Mi-chael, patron saint of the military, part of a memorial he created at St Rose Cemetery for his Eagle Scout project.
