Members of the Knights of Columbus worked outdoors under shelter on the evening of Friday, February 22, to prepare fried fish filets for the annual Friday Knight Fish Fry at St Rose of Lima Church. The event also will be held on March 1 and March 15, with free dinners being offered to first responders who show their IDs on the final night of this year’s Lenten offering. This year, in addition to fried fish, the Knights have added baked fish with a white wine reduction to the menu, which also includes macaroni and cheese. Dinners include french fries and homemade coleslaw, dessert and soft drinks. Continuing clockwise: At the fish fryer, Knight Len Moritz displays a fried filet of tilapia, a freshwater food fish that makes for a tasty meal; a tray of tilapia filets is shown after being removed from a fryer; and at the serving tables in the St Rose Church Parish Hall, servers provided freshly prepared fish dinners to guests on February 22. Friday Knight Fish Fry events run from 5 to 8 pm. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children, and $26 maximum for families (eat-in only). Takeout orders are also available. (Gorosko photo)
