A two-vehicle accident occurred on South Main Street near its intersection with Prospect Drive, Peck’s Lane, and Appleblossom Lane about 12:26 pm on April 12. Police said motorist Robert Zielinski, 26, was driving a 1993 Honda Civic sedan southward on South Main Street. (Police listed Oxford and Waterbury addresses for Zielinski). At that time, Jose Rivera, 36, of Bridgeport was driving a 2007 In-ternational box truck northward on South Main Street, police said. The Honda then crossed into the northbound lane and collided with the truck, police said. Hook & Ladder and Botsford firefighters went to the accident to extricate Zielinski from the Honda. Ambulance volunteers transported Zielinski to Danbury Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. Zielinski was in fair condition on the afternoon of April 16, according to a hospital spokeswoman. After the accident, Rivera was transported to Bridgeport Hospital to be checked for pain, according to police.
