Opus Pocus, a musical group made up of area musicians, from left, Bruce Alexander on bass, Al George on drums, Bob Place on vocals and guitar, and Ted Jeffries on vocals and tenor ukulele entertained a full house at the Newtown Senior Center, Thursday, December 13, with a program of jazz and swing standards, and plenty of holiday tunes. The year-old band has performed at various other venues in Brookfield, Danbury, and Newtown. Unable to resist the music, Commission on Aging member Karen Aurelia, right, joined Senior Center member Beverly Panettiere and others on the dance floor.
