A few hours before Mother Nature turned on her own snow machine Christmas Eve, dozens of children had plenty of reasons to laugh and squeal as they made the best of a small smoosh of manmade snow generated by volunteers at Treadwell Park. Even though the thin layer barely covered a small patch of hillside, it did not deter most the participating children from heading up the hill for run after run. Organizers are also promising additional manmade sledding opportunities at the park in the event the latest covering of snow melts away too soon. (Voket photo)
