Volunteers unloaded a storage bin filled with dolls, games, and toys that had been shipped from Bergen County, N.J., on December 21 to Newtown. The bin was part of the large collection of toys that were then distributed from Edmond Town Hall the following afternoon. “Many different patches here, but one mission,” one organizer said of the effort by a number of New Jersey police departments to bring so many gifts to the residents of Newtown. The Newtown Volunteer Task Force is still looking for volunteers to help organize, sort, and pack similar donations, which are now being sent to a warehouse space on Simm Lane. (R.
