A crew from the Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P) responded to 51 Berkshire Road (Route 34) at the Misty Vale Deli early on the afternoon on August 21 to repair accidental damage that occurred to an electric line. Sandy Hook Fire Chief Bill Halstead said that a trailer, which was being hauled by a SUV, snagged a guy wire on a utility pole at the deli’s driveway, resulting in an impact that caused a primary electric line to fall to the ground. There were no injuries. The 12:23 pm incident caused traffic to be detoured onto adjacent roads in the area. (Gorosko photo)
