NEWTOWN WOODS update building under construction

$Police, Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters, and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded to the Meadowbrook Terrace Mobile Home Park at 55 Sugar Street (Route 302) following a report of a two-vehicle accident about 12:44 pm on July 24 on the street in front of the complex. Police said motorist James Talarino, 71, of 55 Sugar Street, who was driving a 2004 Subaru Legacy station wagon westward on Sugar Street, stopped and signaled to make a left turn into the driveway at 55 Sugar Street, after which the Subaru was struck from behind by westbound motorist Thomas Gleason, 17, of 16 Lake Road, who was driving a 2006 Audi A-4 sedan. The impact pushed the Subaru into the mobile home park where it struck a tree, police said. Talarino was transported to Danbury Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said. Police said they issued Gleason an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. (Gorosko photo)$
