Read MoreA town highway department worker was operating this tractor equipped with a front-loader at the construction site for the town’s planned off-leash dog park at Fairfield Hills at about 2 pm on Wednesday, August 7, when the tractor rolled over on a slope. Town Public Works Director Fred Hurley said that Kevin Belden, 37, was able to jump away from the vehicle as it was flipping over. The tractor apparently flipped over when it encountered some loose soil while carrying a load in its elevated bucket, resulting in the vehicle’s center of gravity shifting, making it unstable. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Mr Belden to Danbury Hospital where he was treated and released. Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident. Police are investigating. (Gorosko photo)
