As busy as Santa’s elves, from left, Golden Opportunities director Knettie Archard, and Nunnawauk Meadows residents Helen Dalton, Mary Lou Kemp and Barbara Wadleigh gath-ered Tuesday, December 7, to put together 700 gift bags to be distributed over the next two weeks to 20 different nursing homes and elder care facilities in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Golden Opportunities, a local nonprofit that supports the lonely and isolated, puts together gift bags for five holidays throughout the year. The Christmas bags this year, donated by Monsignor Robert Weiss of St Rose Catholic Church, contain a tube of toothpaste donated by the Newtown Lions Club, and a soft, felt ornament and jingle bell necklace from Golden Opportunities.
