$Hawleyville Fire Chief Joe Farrell inspects the driver’s compartment of a Ford F-150 pickup truck that crashed into a tree on Farrell Road about 12:19 pm September 16. Police said motorist Jose Minchala, 18, of 29 Old Hawleyville Road was driving the truck northward on Farrell Road, about 250 feet south of its intersection with Patricia Lane, when the truck went off the right road shoulder and then struck a tree. Police said Minchala told them that he was distracted by his dog, which was riding in the truck, before the impact occurred. Minchala reported arm pain and was transported by ambulance volunteers to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Police issued Minchala an infraction for making a restricted turn. (Voket photo)$
