Mia Hochstetler has loaned the majority of her personal collection of penguin-themed items to C.H. Booth Library for its March exhibition. From dolls and figurines to books, valentines and even slippers that celebrate the aquatic, flightless birds that live almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere, Mia’s collection has a little bit of everything. While the gathering of more than 100 pieces includes primarily black and white penguins, there are a few special ones such as Pink Penguin that are especially dear to the first grade student. ![Virginia Zic will have a collection of her paintings exhibited at Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro this month and part of next. An opening reception for “Edge of Reality: Recent Paintings by Virginia Zic” will be hosted by the restaurant, 97 South Main Street, on Sunday, March 13, from 2 to 4 pm.
