Women Involved in Newtown (WIN) concluded its annual Thanksgiving Basket Program on Friday, November 18, when volunteers spent as many as 12 hours in the meeting room of Newtown United Methodist Church assembling the baskets for distribution. Thanks to food drives held around town, and a number of individuals, families, and organizations who “adopted” unnamed residents through Newtown Social Services, WIN was able to provide food and other supplies for Thanksgiving and the holiday season to 70 families.
