Volunteer firefighters who had collected food donations in front of two local supermarkets in the Fill The Fire Truck project transported the collected food items to the FAITH Food Pantry, which is housed in the basement of St John’s Episcopal Church on Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook Center. The food drive collected 61 frozen turkeys, 161 boxes of food items, and $432 in cash and gift cards. The food items are given to FAITH Food Pantry and to the town Social Services Department.
