Emily Ashbolt, a former Newtown Bee intern, drummed up attention for a bake sale she and her Relay For Life team, Sole Savers ("we're runners," she said by way of explanation), hosted on February 21. The sale of fresh baked goodies was an early fundraising effort toward the American Cancer Society event that returns on June 1 to Fairfield Hills. —Bee Photo, Hicks
