Susan Snow gave a wave, with her dog Bosco keeping an eye from the yard, from the front porch of a wood shop her husband Glenn built on the couple’s Sandy Hook property. Glenn took a plan and modified it, said Susan, and hand cut all of the wood for the building. The building, which took a few years to complete, is a combination of cedar, hickory, birch, oak and maple. “It’s a good representation of Connecticut wood,” she said. The outbuilding and its flags provided a beautiful spot of color on February 24, which dawned gray and dull af-ter an early morning snow. While the frozen precipitation had stopped by daybreak, and late morning and afternoon rains quickly washed away much of the snow, but for a few hours it looked like winter again in Newtown.
