On Friday, May 25, members of the Newtown Woman’s Club (GFWC/CT) placed US flags at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Main Street as a Memorial Day tribute to the local people who have served and are serving as members of the US Armed Forces. It is the fourth year that the club has conducted the decoration project. This year, the club added flags for each branch of the armed forces and for the POW/MIA military. Commander Jamie Rebman of Newtown VFW Post 308 donated the flags.
