Newtown police and Bethel police participated in the June 8 Newtown leg of the Special Olympics Torch Run, a fundraising event that promotes the Special Olympics of Connecticut. This year four Newtown police and two Bethel police took part in the Newtown leg of the event. While running on Dodgingtown Road (Route 302) in Dodgingtown, Newtown Officer Jeff Silver, third from left, carried the Special Olympics torch.
