Bubble expert Casey Carle shows off a nature-defying cubical bubble, filled with fog, Thursday, May 24, at a “BubbleMania!” presentation at Head O’ Meadow School. “A spherical bubble uses the least amount of surface. Nature doesn’t use any more energy than necessary,” he told the afternoon audience made up of preschoolers, kindergartners, and third and fourth grade students, just before he showed them how to fool Mother Nature. Mixing lots of science with lots of silliness, Mr Carle entertained with soap sculptures and explained how “Science makes the impossible, possible,” using bubbles and tools — from the classic bubble blower to the best tool of all — the hands. First and second grade students were treated to Mr Carle’s science secrets during a morning show. —Bee Photo, Crevier
