An accident involving two sedans occurred at the hazardous intersection of Currituck Road and Parmalee Hill Road about 1:55 pm on July 27. Motorist Barry Smith, Jr, 18, of 13 Knollwood Drive, who was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta westward on Parmalee Hill Road, entered the intersection without stopping for a stop sign posted on Parmalee Hill Road and then collided with a 2002 Ford Focus being driven northward on Currituck Road by Hannah Keller, 17, of Brookfield. Keller and Ford passenger Mark Necio, 49, of Roxbury were transported by ambulance volunteers to Danbury Hospital. Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident scene.
