$Dodgingtown volunteer firefighters and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded to a one-vehicle accident that occurred during slippery road conditions about 2:19 pm February 23 near 175 Hattertown Road. Police said motorist Helen Webb, 51, of Bethel, who was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer northward on Hattertown Road, skidded sideways into the driveway at 175 Hattertown Road and then struck a curbside mailbox and an embankment there. The SUV came to rest facing south alongside the street. Ambulance corps staffers transported Webb to Danbury Hospital to be checked for neck pain. Police issued Webb an infraction for driving an unregistered vehicle and also gave her a written warning for traveling unreasonably fast. (Gorosko photo)$
