Read MoreSeptember 27, 2009: Sandy Hook firefighters, as well as ambulance volunteers and police, responded about 3:16 pm Sunday afternoon to the scene of a one-vehicle accident on westbound Berkshire Road (Route 34) near its intersection with Sherman Street. Steven Rawson, 39, of Warwick, R.I., was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan, which was carrying three Rawson children as passengers, when he lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway and then went up an embankment, after which the vehicle rolled over several times. Steven Rawson, as well as the Rawson children, Thomas, 12; Hunter, 7; and Caitlen, 5, all were treated at the scene and then transported to Danbury Hospital. Police Mr Rawson an infraction ticket on charges of traveling too fast for conditions, making a restricted turn, failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card, and failure to secure a child in a child-restraint system.
