The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has downsized its Light The Night events this year, but local enthusiasm to help raise funds against blood cancers is as strong as ever. Ginny Chion, second from left, and Colette Ercole, third from left, are co-chairing a Mini Light the Night Walk Celebration that is being planned for Saturday, October 24, at Newtown High School. Participants are beginning to sign up already, and a website has been created at pages LightTheNight.org/CT/Norwalk09/Gchion_LTN with full details about the event and how to support the walk. NHS Athletic Director Greg Simon, on the left, and acute lymphocytic leukemia survivor Christina Ercole, right, and her mom are all holding paper balloons which can be purchased at Bagel Delight, Carminuccio’s and Newtown High School for anyone interested in supporting LLS research.
