$September 27, 2009: Motorist Luciana Pugliese, 17, of Brookfield was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Pas-sat northward near 90 South Main Street on wet pavement about 1:57 pm Sunday afternoon, when she lost control of the auto and then skidded sideways into an embankment along the right road shoulder, police said. The driver’s side of the sedan then collided with a utility pole. Botsford and Hook & Ladder firefighters went to the accident to extricate the driver from the heavily damaged car. Ambulance vol-unteers transported Miss Pugliese to Danbury Hospital for treatment of leg injuries. She was also is-sued an infraction for driving with unsafe tires. (Botsford Fire Rescue photo)$
