Katie Morosky, left, with Coco, and Lisa Romano took advantage of the light traffic volume on Monday to take a leisurely walk up Hall Lane during a storm that left an average of six inches of snow in town. They were among many residents who were surprised to be bundling up and treading lightly one day after Super Bowl Sunday, when temperatures reached a balmy 50 degrees. By Wednesday, winter blanketed Newtown with another covering of snow. The second storm was accompanied by freezing rain, however, making it more difficult to dig out from the precipitation.
