Waterbury resident Michael Rinaldi has visited Newtown regularly, driving a golf cart around to bring a message of support on behalf of the US Armed Forces, since 12/14. He has been on the road across the region since the beginning of the War on Terror, he said, but he added Sandy Hook to his regular rotation after last year’s school shooting. Mr Rinaldi was in Sandy Hook again last week, waving to students as buses left Newtown High School on Monday, October 21. “I figured I’d give these kids a boost,” he said between waves. A Marine, and a member of the Marine Corps Association, Mr Rinaldi wants people to remember that there are soldiers fighting for this country. “My message is kids are out there dying every day. If you think you’re having a bad day, just think about those kids. Let’s keep the faith. Let’s not be selfish. That’s what it’s all about.” (Hicks photo)
