NMS Student Council Food Drive

$Police report that motorist Hayden Savoia, 17, of 7 River Run Road was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe near 45 Mile Hill Road South about 12:40 pm on November 1, when he lost control of the vehicle and struck some rocks on the southbound road shoulder. The auto reentered the roadway and then came to rest on its roof. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Savoia to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Savoia an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions. (Gorosko photo)$
$A Hook & Ladder firefighter walks near a damaged pickup truck that was involved in an accident near NJK Automotive-Sunoco at 75 South Main Street about 11:10 am on November 1. Police said motorist Erika Moran, 40, of 14 Winton Farm Road was driving a 2011 Chevrolet SUV southward on South Main Street and was then attempting to make a left turn, when the Chevrolet collided with a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Michael Maurath, 38, of 24 Greenleaf Farms Road. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps went to the accident to check on a child passenger who was traveling in the Chevrolet. Police said they issued Moran an infraction for failure to grant the right of way. (Gorosko photo)$
