Coco, foreground, an 11-year-old female chocolate Labrador retriever who is owned by Mandy Beckett, now wears the dogbone-shaped #1 Newtown dog tag for the 2014 dog-licensing year, having won that honor through a recent raffle conducted by Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia Halstead. Coco is authorized to wear that dog tag through next May. The raffle promotes local dog licensing. In honor of that #1 Dog status, Your Healthy Pet, a pet food, supplies, and accessories store at 224 South Main Street, awarded Ms Beckett a $50 gift certificate for store merchandise.
