$Motorist Maria Rocha, 67, of Huntington was driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz ML-350 SUV northward on South Main Street, just south of its intersection with Mile Hill Road, at about 2:35 pm on December 12, when she briefly closed her eyes and drove off the right road shoulder, police said. The vehicle then returned to the northbound lane, where it flipped onto its left side, police said. There were no injuries. Rocha received a infraction for making a restricted turn, police said. $At about 3:25 pm on December 12, a three-vehicle accident occurred near 43 South Main Street. The accident involved a 2013 Honda Civic sedan driven by Christine Madden, 52, of 58 Butterfield Road, a 1999 Chrysler Sebring convertible driven by Carlos Lopez, no age given, of Danbury, and a 1997 Ford pickup truck driven by William Rodriguez, 40, of Naugatuck, police said. Lopez was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment of injuries, police said. Rodriguez received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, according to police. (Voket photo)$
$Police report that motorist Carol Goldstein, 65, of West Hartford was driving a 2005 Subaru Forester SUV southward near 83 Toddy Hill Road about 10 am on December 12, when she slowed in preparing to turn left, after which the Forester was struck from behind by southbound motorist Tiffany O’Rourke, 20, of Roxbury, who was driving a 2003 Subaru Impreza sedan. The impact pushed the Forester off the roadway where it struck some rocks and fencing and then traveled several hundred feet before coming to rest on some rocks, police said. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Goldstein to Danbury Hospital for treatment, police said. O’Rourke received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said. (Voket photo)$
