Eleanore N. Farrell was surrounded by her family members at Roberto’s Restaurant in Monroe on Saturday, January 9. She marked her 100th birthday two days later. Leo and Eleanore Farrell moved to Newtown from Stratford to raise their family, according to son Dennis Farrell. The pair had 12 children. Leo passed away in 1971. The family matriarch was honored on Saturday with cake, commemorative presents, and birthday cheer while surrounded by roughly 85 offspring. She has 27 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. “Happy birthday Gigi,” one great-grandchild said after the cake was presented. Pictured with Ms Farrell are her children.
