Volunteers set up 225 tables in the gymnasium, cafetorium, and other rooms at Reed Intermediate School, Tuesday, June 30, in preparation for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library 40th Annual Book Sale, which begins July 11. Even more volunteers planned to carry on next week, setting up the books in each of the 90 categories, many of them alphabetized. Volunteer Janice Bernard takes a break to look over some of the items in the Children’s category. The Book Sale has a wonderful selection of books for children of all ages this year, said Ms Bernard, who is in charge of organizing that de-partment. Many of the books are in new condition, and puzzles, games, and more round out this collection. Volunteers enjoyed pizza donated by Franco’s and Carminuccio’s, both in Newtown, as well as coffee breaks with coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. The Annual Book Sale runs from Saturday, July 11, through Wednesday, July 15. For complete information visit http://www.boothbooksale.org. (Crevier photo)
