Volunteers set up 225 tables in the gymnasium, cafetorium, and other rooms at Reed Intermediate School, Tuesday, June 30, in preparation for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library 40th Annual Book Sale, which begins July 11. Even more volunteers planned to carry on next week, setting up the books in each of the 90 categories, many of them alphabetized. Members of the Newtown High School cheer-leaders, football team, and girls’ soccer teams, as well as many other young people from the area, load boxes onto dollies, and heft them onto tabletops.
