Board of Education Chair Keith Alexander, center right, stood with Newtown Middle School eighth graders Carly Swierbut and Bryce Bisset before his board during its meeting on Tuesday, May 19, when Superintendent of Schools Joseph V. Erardi, Jr, not pictured, introduced the students as the middle school’s Connecticut Association of Board of Education (CABE) Student Leadership Award winners. Dr Erardi also announced Newtown High School seniors Stephen Price and Micaela Nowacki as the high school’s CABE Student Leadership Award winners during the meeting. The CABE Student Leadership Award recognizes students who exhibit leadership skills.
