Sandy Hook School Awards Assembly Gunn and Didonato

$Police report that motorist Penny Volpe, 54, of 4 Crown Hill Drive was driving a 2013 Kia Optima sedan southward on Paugussett Road at about 4 pm on June 18, when she became distracted by the actions of a cat, which was loose inside the Kia. The Kia then drifted off the right road shoulder and struck a utility pole, police said. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters responded to the accident. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Volpe to Danbury Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said. Police said they issued Volpe an infraction for failure to maintain the travel lane.
