$Police report that a chain-reaction accident involving three commercial vehicles occurred about 1:50 pm on October 15 on Washington Avenue just south of its intersection with Riverside Road, Glen Road, and Church Hill Road. Police said that that trucker Thomas Kapustynski, 61, of Ansonia, who was driving a 2016 Hino box truck (far right), was waiting at a red traffic signal. Terrence Richardson, 44, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was driving a 2012 Ford van (center), was waiting behind the Hino, police said. William DeJesus, 38, of South Windsor, who was driving a 2011 Chevrolet van (foreground), then struck the rear end of the Ford, pushing the Ford into the rear end of the Hino, police said. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps evaluated DeJesus at the scene, police said. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued DeJesus an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. (Hicks photo)$
