A flatbed tow truck operator prepares to remove a damaged coupe from the scene of an accident that occurred about 9:24 am on October 2. Police said that motorist Grace Bottini, 23, of Monroe was driving a 2009 Honda Civic coupe southward near 180 Huntingtown Road, just north of the Monroe town line, when the car drove off the wet pavement and struck a utility pole along the right road shoulder. The Honda then spun around from the impact. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Bottini to Danbury Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said. Botsford volunteer firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Bottini a misdemeanor summons for driving with a suspended license and for making a restricted turn. (Gorosko photo)
