Week of September 26, 2014
The Resiliency Center of Newtown (RCN) celebrated its first anniversary this week. Friends of Founder and Director Stephanie Cinque, seen here, joined volunteer program leaders in welcoming the public to the center on Tuesday morning. A new play therapy room, nearly completed, was open for visits, as was a nearby art therapy room and other areas where programs and workshops have been offered during the past 12 months. Ms Cinque has, since September 2013, arranged for dozens of music, art, employment workshops, and even chocolate therapy programs to take place at 153 South Main Street (entry is through the lower rear parking lot). RCN offers long-term healing to anyone in the greater Newtown community impacted by the events of 12/14, to help these individuals reach their full potential. The center is a program of Tuesday’s Children, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Its programs are free and confidential.
