A number of community officials including First Selectman Pat Llodra joined Consumers Petroleum President Christine Hogan on the big scissors for a ribbon cutting and grand opening event at the company's 20th Wheels gas and convenience store at the intersection of Church Hill and Edmond Roads August 28. Festivities included Wheels staffers offering sandwiches and milk shake samples to visiting patrons behind the wheel, and temporarily dropping the price of regular gas to $2.29, attracting a caravan of vehicles lining up for a less expensive fill-up.
