$Police report that a two-vehicle accident occurred near 261 Berkshire Road (Route 34) about 4:48 pm on August 31. Motorist Emily Sousa, 20, of Bethel, who was driving a 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan westward, drove into the rear end of a westbound commercial 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Casey Ziegelmeier, 43, of New Milford, police said. There were no injuries; Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company crew members responded to the incident. The collision caused travel delays during the evening rush. Police said they issued Sousa an infraction for following too closely and for distracted driving. (Hicks photo)$
